The Board operates by committees. Those currently in place are:


The Tribunal is a court of appellate jurisdiction. This is because its awards are only appealable at the Supreme Court of Nigeria. It is headed by the Chairman of the Board and its membership comprises experienced members of the noble profession. As provided by the enabling law, an Assessor guides the Tribunal on its proceedings relating to matters of the law. This Assessor must be a senior Advocate of Nigeria. The Disciplinary Tribunal for all intents and purposes, considers and determines any case referred to it by the Investigating Panel.


This is the Committee primarily tasked with matters pertaining to education. The committee members regularly carry out accreditation visits to tertiary institutions offering courses approved by the Board. The committee headed by ESV. (A/Prof) J.A Onyike also undertakes investigations and recommend to the Board qualifying examinations/certificates to be recognized by the Board.


The Professional Practice committee is saddled with the various responsibilities listed below:

·        Review the mode of conducting interviews for registration of persons as Estate Surveyors and Valuers with a view to improving and strengthening the process.

·        Conduct assessments and interviews for personsapplying to be registered by the Board as Estate Surevyors and Valuers.

·      Regularly conducts registration interviews for candidates who apply to be registered Estate Surveyors and Valuers. It also handles issues relating to professional practice as members are saddled with researching and recommending improvements on the Board’s practice standards, regulations and code for the practice of Estate Surveying and valuation in Nigeria. It is being headed by ESV. Victor Alonge.


This Committee is charged with responsibility of conducting preliminary investigations in petitions levied against members alleged to have misbehaved in his capacity as an Estate Surveyor and Valuer. The committee is to report to the Board on whether a case should be referred to and be subject of proceedings before the Tribunal. 


This is the committee that prepares and proposes the annual budget to the Board. The Chairman of the committee being the Chairman of the Board reports to the Board on the general and specific finance requirements of the Board. It is also tasked with ensuring and reporting to the Board on compliance with the Public Procurement Act and other statutory Finance Legislations in force.
